My favorite sites are blogs!
It dawned on me earlier this week that most of the web sites I read on a daily basis are all basically blogs. Slashdot, random($foo), /usr/bin/girl, The Register, Ars Technica, Borland Community, Visor Village, Voodoo Extreme, News.com, Metafilter, etc., etc. The format is generally this: new content every day-- multiple posts per day make for multiple hits per user a day (I hit Slashdot way too often mainly because they have a lot of posts every day); new content is always at the top so it's very easy to find and read; very little if any graphics-- most of the content is textual; hyper-linked content (the more the better, for additional reading). This model works-- for me anyway.
