Already handsome
Every Sunday I try to dress Seth in clothes that are a little nicer than what he would normally wear to town, mostly just a nice, button down, usually plaid shirt (except for the Hawaiian flowers, that one’s my favorite) and cotton trousers, usually navy or khaki. I then praise him by telling him, “You look soooo handsome Seffie. Daddy, doesn’t he look handsome?” I also tell him he’s sooooo handsome after brushing his hair. It looks so nice and smooth for 20 seconds. I do this because it seems we dress our girls up on Sunday but not our boys. We’ll have a whole generation of young men who don’t know how to dress up on Sunday, or dress up at all. And isn’t it just cute to see a little boy dressed up?
Two weeks ago I brushed Savannah’s hair, then started brushing Seth’s hair too. He was already dressed in his Sunday clothes. He pulled away, ran his hands over his blonde head and said, “No, I already handsome!”
