Lights out

We lost power last night around 6:15. When that happens, we enjoy going out to dinner, (to another part of town) but Brad wasn't home yet. We read books by the sunlight left and worked a puzzle. Soon, there wasn't enough light to do much else.

When it first happened, Savannah thought she should try several light switches. Each time, I re-explained to her that the electricity went out and someone had to fix it on the roads outside. She wanted a marshmallow but didn't want it cooked (on the stove-top.) I explained again that we couldn't use the stove anyway when the lights go out and that the refrigerator door should stay closed to keep everything cold. Brad got home as it was getting too dark to do much, so we all went to Uno's for pizza. They were back on by the time we got home.

This morning after waking up, she came into my room and said the lights were fixed. I realized I'd heard her switch on her lamp after she climbed out of bed and thought it was funny that it was the first thing she thought of. Later she said now that they were fixed, we could do a lot of things :)
